Moscow Live

People are coming to the Demo today in Moscow
Yesterday The organizers of the opposition rally on Moscow's Bolotnaja Square call on the five Russian presidential candidates to sign a public pledge to implement democratic reforms. (Which is like to ask the chef at the restaurant if the wine is good.)

Moscow, Pushkin Square, 6:00 in the morning: The police found a box filled with wires and a clock. The Pushkin Square, in the very Moscow Centre and famous because during the Soviet period there took place demonstration for the respect of human right, was closed. Policeman whit dogs controlled the place.
It is easy to say, that it was a provocation.
The same Police don't allow people to come to the Demonstration with thermos or big bags.

Bolotnaja Square, morning: A big banner with the slogan "Putin is our President" was hanged to a blockhouse, which sees the square. The anti-Putin Demonstration is going to take place there.

Thousands of people came to de demonstration. There are ideological and no ideological column in which everyone can gather at. One can see many with party's flag like Jabloko.
The columns began the march at 20 past 12.

Slogans: Send Putin to the moon; Put IN Put Out; Russia without Putin

Putin is thief, chant people passing by president-hotel.

In front of the columns appears groups of buddhism religion. They said they won't any violence and would like to stop the demo: "We are against revolution and intervention from the Police".

Meanwhile the Police announced the about 8000 people is taking part to the Demonstration.

In Pushkin's Square began the meeting organized by the ultra nationalist party LDPR "Liberal-Democratic Party of Russia".

The pro-Putin meetin began in Moscow at Poklonnaja Gora. The Police say, there are about 15.000 people there.

The Blogger Aleksej Navalnyj is marching with the white column. "I'd like to be in all the columns" he said, "because I'd liked to see a unit demonstration. I will not take word during the Meeting, because I don't want to see all the time the same people speaking to the square".

There are many columns taking part to the Demo. They are different and composed from people that in a normal situation have nothing to do with each-other. The are anarchists, who don't want any leader and any president, the composite Left-Front, the Nationalist Column with flags from the tzar's Russia.
This fact has always represented the weakness of the anti-Putin opposition. And it is still present today. It is not a good signal.

As well as this one: it is cold in the street. At the moment is -18 C° (-4 F). Cold tea is sold in the square for 1 Euro. Sandwiches for 3 Euros. The sellers say, they are the only ones allowed to have business during the Demo.

13:22: the member of Putin's political oppositio, Wladimir Rizhkov came to the Bolotnaja Square. The columns are coming back to the square, where a meeting is going to start.

13:52: At Bolotnaja Square Wladimir Rizhkov speaks about 100.000 people, who came to the march.

Michail Prokhorov, one of the five President's candidates, the only one independent, left the square.

Evgenija Chirikova (Green Party), wants the founder of Jablako Party, Javlinskij, to candidate himself to the president election.
Rizhkov now talks of 120.000 people coming to the square.

I know about cases, in the University, where students were obligated to come to that meeting. One of my students told me about that. She didn't accept the imposition. Teachers! Defend Democracy! Our first request today is Putin to leave!"
